I am Amritha Nagendra Prasad, a student of Swaravani Kalalaya. I had been learning Carnatic vocals since I was 8 from Subash sir and Dr. Subbulakshmi Subash, who is currently tuting me to play Veena. Music has always been a way of life since my childhood and I have been participating in Bhajans and singing programs and several Rotary Club performances since my childhood. I was exposed to the concept of Music therapy and Raga chikitsa by Dr. Subbulakshmi Subash, who did her doctorate in the same field. I was completely drawn towards the idea. I completed my M.Tech in Genetic Engineering and completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Music Therapy. I am now pursuing a Master's degree in Psychology and would love to establish a scientific basis to the concept and to promote its usage just as any other complementary therapies such as art therapy, magnet therapy, etc.

Veena playing is one of my dream comes true. With the blessings of almighty of my guru Subbalakshmi mam makes it true. While joining in the class I don't have a knowledge about the veena. After that I have learned lots and lots of knowledge about the veena and its playing from my guru. Whenever I am started to playing veena I can feel my inner soul and peacefulness around me. We can connect the emotions easily in veena which will soon reach our sensory system of the brain. Nowadays veena is become my part of the life. I am like to thank my guru. Thank You Mam!
